Live performance by Anajara Laisa Amarante
“Everybody constructs an image of oneself, to present to other, to present for oneself even. We build on our bodies - we feed on it, we deny it, and we try to live lives which could give us some pleasure or, at least, a suitable reality.
The performance of Das Wesen aims to present the artist as a person in construction (always changing) and to relate herself with other bodies in construction - other body images.
The monster creates itself. Changes its aesthetics in order to change the reality around it. It wants to create an image.
And it wants to tell a story.”
Golden Mint Productions presented the Brazilian interdisciplinar artist in a live performance art piece about cruelty, friendship, changing bad realities, and about immigration politics in Germany.
The performance took action at the 8th floor of Greenhouse Berlin.
