Cashmere Radio wanted hiphop

... White Lie gives them 'em beats.

"White Lie aka Whitest Female Hiphop DJ Alive is an impulsive experiment that started in the HQ of electronic music, Berlin late 2014. Over time she has been developing a synergy between soul, neo soul, and jazz - with old school hiphop as a rooted base. At her first time at Cashmere Radio, she's presenting a mix of her jumble mélange; from saxophone to dreamy beats to french rap to a female rap tribute."

White Lie DJ set @ Mein Haus Am See

A lil pre-party thing going on here tonight. Surronded by british tourists innit. Maybe I'll play some UK Grime for them (no)

You can expect a lot of souly beats + music box sounds from Japan + Amy + El Da Sensei (me and him are friends since he followed me back on Twitter the other day) + some swedish rap but there will still be no Skepta, sorry

I don't have a booth bitch yet so call shotgun will ya

Golden Mint Productions on indieberlin radio

This previous weekend I got invited to do a mix and a interview for indieberlin's pilot radio session. Indieberlin has a special place in my (ice cold) heart. Not only are they doing a great job covering the creative scene in Berlin, they're also giving a huge push for Golden Mint Productions and everything around it as soon as anything is on (i.e always). And also: the founders, Noel Maurice and Mia Morris, took me in as a freelance writer when I was new in the city. Basically, the indieberlin-crew was the first ones to back up any kind of creativity I had going on in Berlin in the beginning. I'm forever grateful (and pretty cocky about it)

White Lie (my alter ego -sincerely, Clark Kent) did a live set (unfortunately on a laptop - insert sad smiley -), unbended+soulful beats for around 45 minutes. But before that I did a inteview, talking about the hiphop scene in Berlin ("What feedback I get when I'm djing? Well, they're mostly asking for my phone number...") and about Sifting Gold - of course!

Soon to be on the world wide web! But for now, here's some pictures by Danilo Sierra!

We finally made peace with the fact that we fucked up the whole recording in the studio last time.

It's been tears + anger + doubt + willingness to give up (life), and hair has been ripped off from our tiny heads - but now a sound technician (hero) promised to help us out each and every time we're about to record ANYTHING.

All good.

On the bright side, we have studio time this Tuesday AND we have brand new art work! Golden times.

Ok? Ok.

The year is about to end, but the Golden Mint HQ are not taking a holiday break - the inspiration is flowing better than ever.

Stay tuned until next year, we promise: performance art acts (weirder than ever), visual exhibition by geniuses from Amsterdam, the bass driven party pt.2, a new collaboration (still a secret, wait for it!), and _the very first_ full length podcast episode (follow Sifting Gold here!) - and this is only 1/4 of the year!

Thanks for the last 6 months, it's been a odd (and goddamn funny!) lil' journey so far, and nothing could have been done without; all the great+talented artists supporting this <3

And until 2016:

have another glass

you're worth it.
